Week 3 - Analyst

Hi guyss!! I am Celia, this week’s analyst.

This week we have been working on the potentialities of ICT in the classroom, which we had to reflect on in a graphic story. We had to do it in Auca format, which is formed by pictures that present different situations with a rhyme explaining each situation.

On one hand, the best part of the activity was to decide how the pictures and situations presented on the comic would be. We spent a long time thinking about them, and when we finally had everything clear, it was such a relief.

On the other hand, the worst part of the activity was trying to identify the potentialities in the text provided by our teacher and later creating rhymes about each potentiality. It is really difficult to make rhymes about certain topics, and even more making them in English.

About our group team, the best moment of the week was when we finally had decided the potentialities and the way to represent them, as the only thing we had to do then was putting everything together and create the comic. However, the worst moment was when we started reading the text to look for the potentialities, as we did not really know what our teacher wanted us to represent in the graphic story, so we were really stressed. But finally, we understood everything and the situation improved.

With this activity we have learned about some things that the ICTs offer to our students when using them in our classroom. This way, we know that by using these technologies at school a wide range of values and techniques is offered to our students for their development.

 For next week, we need to continue offering help to our mates in order to solve problems. Working together makes it easier to solve doubts that we all have when doing the task. Something that we have to improve as a group is the organization, even if it is difficult to meet online due to the situation. We have to be prepared before in order to do the task in a better way.

As it is known, ICTs are used for nearly everything in nowadays society, so we need to know how they work and what they offer to us by learning how to use them. That is the reason why we will need to teach our students how to use them, as that way they will learn innovative techniques that will make their learning easier. 

From my point of view, Rugiya deserves a 4 as she has improved from last week's task; she has participated with the rest of the group doing the activity and tried to help with the pictures for the comic, but I think she should get more involved when discussing what to do in the task. Noelia deserves a 5, as she is, without any doubt, the person who worked the most in the task; she summarized a really big part of the document and got some of the main ideas, created most of the rhymes thanks to her incredible imagination and also gave ideas for the pictures of the comic. Iván deserves a 4 this week, as he improved a lot from last week's task; he worked in a more organized way, helped with the summary of the document to get ideas and also created some of the rhymes. However, I think he can do better, so I want to see how much he can improve. I know he can make a bigger effort. César deserves a 4 too, as he worked in a really good way, helped summarizing the document and found most of the ideas for doing the comic, but I think he was like “less motivated” than other times. I mean, his work was really good, but I think he did not participate and gave his opinion as much as he has done in other tasks, but I think that for the next activity he will do a perfect performance and he will deserve a 5. I think that Alejandro deserves a 4 because he has worked in an organized way too and helped thinking about the situations and rhymes for the comic, but as I said before with other mates, I think he can do even better, so I want to see how much more he can do in the following activities. And finally, I think that I deserve a 4 too, as even though I helped when trying to decide what to show in each situation and I edited the pictures in Photoshop and organized them for creating the comic, I think I could have done better in finding the main ideas and summarizing, so I will try to do my best in the next task.
