Week 4 - Translator

Hey there! It is Iván, the fourth week’s translator. Here are the five terms we worked on:

-Bloom taxonomy. When stating the objectives of the academic term or year, we talk about Bloom taxonomy. This is a hierarchical classification of the levels of thinking. We consider this as a metacognition issue.

-Arts. As this task requires creating different pictures, it is mainly considered an Art’s one. This can be defined as a learning that includes human condition, and developing critical, argumentative, and creating abilities of the student.

-Psychology. This subject is present in this task as well. Thus, a psychological analysis can be ejected, in response to the drawings of children, as they are reflections of students thinking.

-Versatility. This quality of the online jigsaw puzzles creator was crucial to develop them. In this way, we were offered different sized puzzles, depending on the complexity of our drawings, and on the school level in which we were going to implement them. Moreover, a curious thing which impressed us a lot was the fact that even teachers can learn from this tool.

-Digital tools. It allows an added dimension to learning. Without technology, the online puzzle could not have been made.

The use of digital tools in this case allows students to have a large number of puzzles to solve. In addition, having a wide variety of puzzles allows students to solve puzzles related to their tastes and adapted to their level and needs. In addition, all students can solve the puzzle since being online, the puzzle does not have to be shared and there is no limited number.

QUESTION: Does all of this have into account the limitations on accessing online resources that some people experience?

It is working on it. Concretely, some schools grant scholarships for the most brilliant students, and for the ones who belong to low-income families. Added to that, one of the main objectives for a short-term future, is that all students have access to all kinds of resources and education that they can study whatever they want at all levels. Having this into account, it is possible to state that currently, some people still have limitations to benefit from technology, but we hope that not for long.
