Week 7 - Analyst

Hi guys! I am Iván and this week I am going to be the analyst. This task consisted in the trial of three different activities which are used to help students of all ages in learning how to code properly, something that is closely related with our degree. Concretely, the ones that our teachers told us to choose, were the ones directed to children belonging to Grades between 2 and 5.

According to performing this assignment, we have divided the work in order to work in pairs, so that each two members of The Breakfast Club have tried one game, answered the questions, documented the experience and included the tools which they have used in the Ethics Rank.

Personally, I felt very confident during the trial of my game. It was so easy and I loved that it was a sports one. In order to be conscious about all steps, I shared screen with him and the two of us wrote about the experience. I was surprised that such a complex issue (coding), could be simplified to be understood by kids. Consequently, I strongly believe that it was the best part of the activity.

Then, it was the time of podcasting the radio program with Audacity. For doing that, we chose Alejandro, Celia and César as “experts”, who talked about the activity assigned to them. Then, Rugiya and me elaborated an advertisement of “The hour of code”, and Noelia acted as the radio interviewer. This was the worst part of the activity, as it took a little bit more than intended.

Concluding with this, the evaluation of the group has been successful, as this week we have overcome the major difficulty of the last one. In this way, we have divided the work, in such a way that we were not working until the last moment, but we should improve in aspects such as being even more resolutive, especially when we are fatigued. Individually, all of us did a good job. In my opinion, Celia deserves a 5, as she joint all our voices to create a brilliant radio program, as well as developing a complex documenting labour of her task with Noelia, who has achieved the maximum mark (5), as she performed as a “Radio star”, with her role of interviewer. Then, Alejandro has improved a lot since the last task. His explanation in the program was amazing and he assumed an important role. For that reason, I would give him a 5 as well. César deserves a 4 because I loved his way of explaining the labour in the program, but I would be pleased to see the “Mindmaster” which I have seen the other times. Another brilliant mind, which needs to continue improving is Rugiya, whose mark is a 4. She elaborated a proper job of documenting, and a simulation of an advertisement (that was close to a real one) with me. My participation in the task was pretty good, as when I ended my activity and the advertisement, I was open to help the others. Nevertheless, I was not as efficient as I would have liked to with the job of the rest of the people, so I obtained a 4.
